9 natural body care recipes Ditching the toxins in our makeup and body care products has never been easier! These nine simple, all natural, recipes will replace your store bought goods and give you peace of mind, knowing what you are putting on your body. If whipping up body products in your kitchen isn't your thing, that's okay too! There are a lot of great products that are natural and work great. It's nice to have options. A couple of tips about making your own products with essential oils:
  •  Always melt your coconut oil, shea butter, etc. in a double boiler on your stove. Slower is better. You don’t want to over heat these, just slowly heat to soften so you can mix them up.
  •  When you’re ready to add essential oils, make sure the mixture is mostly cool before adding. This should be one of your last steps.
  •  Try to buy the purest ingredients as far as Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, etc.
Body Butter
  • 1 c. Coconut Oil
  • 2 t. Vitamin E Oil
  • 5-6 drops of favorite Essential Oil
Slowly melt coconut oil until it is soft enough to mix. Add in Vitamin E Oil and Essential Oils and wisk together. Store at room temperature. Shaving Cream
  •  ¼ c. Coconut Oil
  • 4 T. Shea Butter
  • 3 T. Sweet Almond Oil
  • 10-12 drops of Essential Oil
Melt the first three oils together and let cool a bit before adding in the essential oils. Transfer to the refrigerator and let it harden. Once hardened, whip until is the consistency of frosting. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 month. Homemade Aftershave
  •  ¼ c. Coconut Oil
  • 15 drops Eucalyptus
  • 3 drops Peppermint
  • 10 drops Grounding Blend
  • 3 drops Vetiver
Melt Coconut Oil, when mostly cool, add oils and whisk. Apply right after shaving. Homemade Deodorant
  •  ½ c. Arrowroot Powder
  • ½ c. Coconut Oil
  • 30 drops Melaleuca
  • 30 drops favorite Essential Oil
Melt the first two ingredients together and let cool before stirring in the Essential Oils. Place in jar and use in place of deodorant. Facial Cleanser
  •  ¼ c. liquid castile soap
  • 1 t. Olive Oil
  • 3 drops Vitamin E Oil
  • 5 drops chamomile Essential Oil
  • 8 drops Melaleuca Oil (for oily skin)
  • 8 drops Lavender Oil (for dry skin)
  • 8 drops Jasmine Oil (for mature skin)
Combine ingredients and add to a hand pump dispenser. Use a few squirts each day to wash your face. Facial Moisturizer
  •  ¼ c. Shea Butter
  • ¼ C. Vitamin E Oil
  • 10 drops Frankincense
  • 7 drops Grounding Blend
  • 3 drops Lavender
Melt first two ingredients, let cool partially and add in the Essential Oils. Let cool completely and whip with a hand mixer. Store in a glass jar. Clear Skin Ointment
  • 1 c. Sea Salt
  • ½ c. Honey
  • 2 T. Vitamin E Oil
  • 10 drops Melaleuca
Mix and store in glass jar with lid. To use, rinse face with hot water to open pores. Apply scrub and use circular scrubbing motions. Rinse or leave on as a mask. Follow up with nourishing moisturizer.  Lip Balm
  • 2 oz. beeswax, grated
  • 3 oz. coconut oil
  • 5 drops Vitamin E oil
  • 10 drops lavender Essential Oil
Melt beeswax and coconut oil. Let cool part way and add Vitamin E and Essential Oils. Fill tubes or tins. Let cool until firm and use. Sunblock
  • ¼ c. Olive Oil
  • ¼ c. Coconut Oil
  • ¼ c. Rasberry Seed Oil
  • 3 T. Almond Oil
  • 10 drops Lavender
  • 10 drops Helichrysum
  • 10 drops Myrrh
Mix together and store in glass container. Apply before going in sun and repeat every two hours. After time in sun, rub a little more in for added healing protection.
